King joins Tidebridge as demand builds for bespoke technology
Jimmy King joined Tidebridge as Partner and Commercial Director in September 2026, six months after founding his own advisory firm, Vela Advisors. Vela took on seven clients in that time, advising real estate firms on technology strategy and AI. What changed his plans was how quickly those clients moved from wanting a strategy to asking who would build it.
The article sets out how Tidebridge works. There are no products to sell. Systems are built in the client's own environment and the client owns the code. If buying something off the shelf is the right answer, that is the advice the client gets.
Since launching in March 2026, Tidebridge has grown to 15 clients, with work ranging from AI enablement programmes to full asset management platform builds. Jimmy began his career at CBRE in retail and leisure leasing before moving into property technology at VTS and Fifth Dimension. He now leads commercial growth at Tidebridge.
“Clients have moved past wanting a strategic plan and started asking who was going to build the thing, with far higher expectations on speed of delivery.”
“We've got no product to sell. No licence, no platform, no seat count. We're independent by design.”
“Demand has arrived faster than we expected, from firms wanting a single AI rollout to firms wanting us to build the platform their asset management runs on.”
